STARTING YOUR WEEK

YOU’RE HERE ON PURPOSE
Psalm 139:14

Good morning and blessings to each of you!

We are each on a journey that is predestined with purpose.  According to Genesis 1:28, each of us was created for this purpose:  to increase, to occupy/lay claim, to take authority.  Though the course of nature was thrown off balance as a result of sin, but the purpose for each and every individual never changed.  God raised up Noah after Adam; Moses after Noah, Abraham after Moses, Isaac, Jacob (the twelve tribes of Israel), and so on. Each person walking out the first commandment of God: to be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth, subdue and have dominion over it.

We were purposefully created to LIVE in the earth; however, because of sin, we became ASSIGNED to the earth to carry out the works of God for the purpose of reconciliation and restoration. Here’s what I’m saying, before sin, Adam and Eve needed only to LIVE in the garden:  care for one another, care for the creation.  Provision was made available to them, they wanted for nothing and lacked in no thing; there was little effort necessary to work out their lives.  However, sin replaced the luxury of LIVING with the need to WORK: work to earn wages for a living (Proverbs 6:10-11), work out your salvation (Philippians 2:12).  Though we are not saved by works alone, it is through obedience that we exercise the word of God so that it is manifested in the earth and the will of God is carried out.

This morning, I am compelled to encourage someone who may be experiencing tragedy, brokenness, hurt, disappointment, sickness, financial struggle, job loss and/or even death.  God is near you, even close to you as the words in your mouth.  You are not alone.  God is not simply infatuated with the thought of creating you; He created you on purpose and specifically assigned you for a great work in the earth.  The Psalmist, David, best describes the intimacy of God towards His creation saying
Lord, you have examined me. You know me.
You know when I sit down and when I stand up. Even from far away, you comprehend my plans.
You study my traveling and resting. You are thoroughly familiar with all my ways.
There isn’t a word on my tongue, Lord, that you don’t already know completely.
You surround me—front and back. You put your hand on me.
That kind of knowledge is too much for me; it’s so high above me that I can’t fathom it.
Where could I go to get away from your spirit? Where could I go to escape your presence?
If I went up to heaven, you would be there. If I went down to the grave, you would be there too!
If I could fly on the wings of dawn, stopping to rest only on the far side of the ocean—
Even there your hand would guide me; even there your strong hand would hold me tight!
If I said, “The darkness will definitely hide me; the light will become night around me,”
Even then the darkness isn’t too dark for you! Nighttime would shine bright as day, because darkness is the same as light to you!
You are the one who created my innermost parts; you knit me together while I was still in my mother’s womb.
I give thanks to you that I was marvelously set apart. Your works are wonderful—I know that very well.
My bones weren’t hidden from you when I was being put together in a secret place, when I was being woven together in the deep parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my embryo, and on your scroll every day was written that was being formed for me, before any one of them had yet happened.
God, your plans are incomprehensible to me! Their total number is countless!
If I tried to count them—they outnumber grains of sand! If I came to the very end—I’d still be with you.—Psalms 139:1-15a

Be encouraged! Take your place in the earth and walk out the purpose of God for your life.  Increase the kingdom-by word and witness; occupy/lay claim-knowing the earth is the Lords and fullness thereof, the world and all that are in it; and take authority-Kingdom people have the kingdom authority.

Love & blessings,

Kinwana
